Parks and Rec FAQ
The park is open daily from 6:00AM to 10:00PM. We offer seasonal activities including volleyball tournaments in the summer and a warming house for the ice rink during winter. Check our Park Calendar for more information on seasonal programming.
It is unlawful for any owner to permit a dog to defecate upon public property without immediately removing the excrement and disposing of it in a sanitary manner. It is unlawful for any owner to permit a dog to be upon public property unless such animal is in the custody of a person of suitable age and discretion having in his possession equipment and supplies for excrement removal. City regulations stipulate that all dogs must be leashed or under direct control on public property, vaccinated every 3 years for rabies and distemper, and cannot create nuisances like excessive barking or property damage. Owners are limited to 2 dogs max.
The park features tennis courts, dedicated pickleball courts and a multi-use court for both pickleball or basketball., a playground, a sand volleyball court, beautiful pavilion with picnic tables, and an ice skating rink during winter months. We also maintain an off-site baseball field.
The rink is typically open November-March, weather permitting. Please contact our representative for the ice rink subcommittee for more information.
Unless otherwise specified, all park amenities are first-come, first-served for casual use, but may be reserved for club play or tournaments. Please refer to the Park Calendar for our current play schedules and upcoming events.
Equipment access is available April through October. All equipment must be returned to the shed before park closing. Access to the equipment requires unlocking the shed with a keypad code which is made available upon request via the City website, or by contacting the designated Equipment Manager appointed by the Longville Parks and Recreation Committee. For security, codes to access the shed are changed regularly April-October, and the shed is locked completely October-April. Yes! Please contact either the City or the Committee to discuss your event. Depending on the size and type of event you are planning, you may need to reserve specific facilities or obtain the necessary permits and/or insurance.
The pavilion can be reserved April-October by filling out the Pavilion Rental Application Form provided by the City of Longville. Please visit City Hall to access the form and current rates, or visit their website to download a printable version. Submit completed application forms and enclosed rental fees to the City Clerk.

Through a combination of city budget allocations, fundraising events, grants, and generous community donations. In fact, many of the attractions in our wonderful little park are community-funded, and all of them are maintained by volunteers!
Donations to support the park can be made to our Park Improvement Fund held by the City Treasurer at Longville City Hall. You can also donate directly to the City of Longville for park maintenance. Donations may be made by cash or check, with checks made payable to:

Stuart Memorial Park with "Improvement Fund" written on the memo line.
